Susan - Hygienist

My name is Susan and I've been a hygienist for over 20 years. I graduated from Bergen Community college in 1987 and I've been working at Smile Specialists for 17 years. I'm married to my wonderful husband John and I have two terrific kids, Jackie and Mikey. I also have an adorable 1 year old French Mastiff puppy named Kia.

My hobbies include spending time with my family, going to my kids sporting events, playing with my dog, shopping , going to the beach, working out and going out to dinner.

I am so happy to be part of the Smile Specialists team and I'm very blessed to be able to work with everyone on the staff as well as the patients. My mission is to create a calm and relaxing environment for all of my patients so they can have a positive experience. When I am able to make my patients happy, this truly makes me happy.

Roberta - Hygienist

My name is Roberta and I have been a Hygienist for 24 years, and I graduated from Bergen Community College. I really enjoy being a Hygienist, making people feel comfortable at the dentist office and sharing my knowledge of dental health. I have been part of the Smile Specialist family for a year and a half. I am one of the Pediatric Hygienists. It is very rewarding to me to make the children's visit a positive experience which is easy to do at Smile Specialists. We really have a unique staff that makes the visits memorable and exciting so that children can't wait to come back.

I am a mother of three, two girls and one boy, and have been married for 23 years. I also have two wonderful dogs Jasmine and Piper. Over time, I have added a few more careers to my life such as Personal Trainer/ Kick Boxing Instructor and Clinical Hypnotist. I really enjoy helping people and letting them enjoy living there life to the fullest! My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and travel- to me there is nothing better than enjoying vacation with my family.

Tara - Hygienist

My Name is Tara, and I have been working here at Smile Specialists since 1996. When I started here I was a dental assistant; and over the years, I have assisted in all of the departments in the practice including adult and pediatric restorative and orthodontics. I decided to go back to college to become a registered Dental Hygienist, and I graduated from Bergen Community College in 2001 with a degree in Allied Health, in applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Since graduating I have been specializing in pediatric hygiene and I love it! I have been married since 1998 to David and we have two beautiful children, David Michael and Ava Marie. When I'm at home I spend all of my time with my family and friends.

Joan - Staff

My name is Joan and I am the Re-Care / New Patient Coordinator for Smile Specialists. I am also one of the greeters and I have enjoyed working here for the past twenty-one years. I am the first person you will see when you and your child visit our office for the first time. I am a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Nursing and am a retired registered nurse. I have five children and eight grand-children and live in Oakland.

Brianna - Staff

My name is Brianna and I have been part of the Smile Specialists family for 6 months at the Front Desk. I am a student at William Paterson University working towards my degree in K-5 Education and Art. I have a true passion for children. I am also a Pioneer cheerleader at WPUNJ. I love spending time with my family and friends. My favorite hobbies are playing guitar, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and painting.

My role as Front Desk Greeter is to welcome patients and make them feel like family. I help them with anything they may need and I do it with a smile! I love my job here at Smile Specialists because of the patients and staff.

Lisette - Staff

My name is Lisette, and I have been part of the Smile Specialists family since September 2007. I am very excited to be part of this team, as this is my second home. In my spare time, I enjoy spending lots of time with my family and friends. I have two older sisters, and one older brother, so I am the baby! Which means I can relate to many of my patients. I look forward to growing within my Smile Specialists family, so that I can assist and get to know all of our Pediatric patients to the best of my ability.

My role is Chairside Assistant. I work alongside Dr. Allen, to make sure your child is taken care of at each visit with the doctor. I pride myself on creating a calm and comfortable environment so your child is at ease.

Candy - Staff

My name is Candy and I've been part of the Smile Specialists family for six months as a Pediatric Hygiene Assistant. I have a wonderful 2 year old boy named Angell and a great fiance Omar. They are my life. I love spending time with my family and friends. Some of my hobbies are playing tennis, art, cooking and meeting up with my friends. My role as a Hygiene Assistant is to make sure the kids have a fun visit and make them feel comfortable all of the time. I love working here because of the amazing staff and playing with kids.

Irene - Staff

My name is Irene and I have been a part of the Smile Specialists family since May 2006. I work as a Financial Manager and strive to make dentistry more affordable to patients. I love working with the patients and look forward to helping them in any way I can. I have experience in billing and dental insurance for about 9 years. I just recently got married to my wonderful husband Robert in May 2010. In my spare time I like to travel, spend time with my family and friends, and play with my dog. I have a beautiful 4 year old Pitbull-Mastiff mix named Nacho. I love working with an amazing staff.

My role as a Financial Manager is to coordinate your insurance benefits and go above and beyond to help patients feel comfortable about the finances. I am here to answer any questions or concerns you may have concerning your insurance or your bill.

Angela - Staff

Hi! My name is Angela. I have been a team member here at Smile Specialists since September 2002. I started out as a Dental Assistant and I am now working as an Administrative Manager. I am originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan and I attended Michigan State University where I graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.

I currently live in Kinnelon with my beautiful 9 year old daughter, Paige. She is in 4th grade, and she LOVES coming to visit Dr. Allen!! In my spare time, I enjoy playing with my daughter, watching football and any activities that involve warm weather and the beach!

My favorite part about working at Smile Specialists is the wonderful staff and spending time with the kids!

Mandy - Staff

My name is Mandy and I have just joined the Smile Specialists team in September 2010. I graduated in 2009 from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Hospitality Business Management. I am the Pediatric Treatment Coordinator and my job is to work with parents and children to make going to the dentist exciting, fun and affordable. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, going to the beach, shopping, listening to music, and spending time with my friends and family.

The staff here at Smile Specialists is really great and everyone is always smiling! I love working here because I get to meet new patients every week and make their experience the best it can be. I work closely with Dr. Allen and the Hygienists to help answer any questions you may have concerning your child's treatment. We strive to make your child's visit both enjoyable and memorable, so if there is anything we can do to make the visit better we are excited to accommodate you.
